In an iconic reunion, the legendary actor Kamal Haasan and acclaimed director Mani Ratnam have joined forces once more after 36 years. Their new collaboration, Kamal Haasan’s 234th film, is aptly titled “Thug Life.”
The intriguing first look poster of “Thug Life” features Kamal Haasan, concealing his face beneath a hood, set against the backdrop of shadowy figures brandishing an array of weapons, all situated in what appears to be a body of water.
In the teaser, Kamal Haasan takes center stage, introducing himself as “Rangaraya Sakthivel Nayakan.” Addressing the camera, he confronts a group of individuals closing in on him, armed with various weapons.
He shares his moniker, “Kayalpattu Kaaran,” and recounts a life story plagued by society’s judgment, labeling him as a criminal or even a Yakuza, a term referring to gangsters in Japanese. With a dramatic flourish, Kamal removes his hood, revealing his imposing martial arts attire.
“Thug Life” is a collaborative production between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam, under their respective banners, Raaj Kamal Films International and Madras Talkies. The film boasts a stellar team, featuring AR Rahman as the music composer, Sreekar Prasad as the editor, cinematographer Ravi K Chandran, and the dynamic stunt choreographer duo, AnbAriv. The cast welcomes prominent stars, including Trisha Krishnan, Jayam Ravi, and Dulquer Salmaan, making “Thug Life” one of the most highly anticipated releases of the year.
