‘Black Panther’ Actress Carrie Bernans Injured, Pinned Under Food Truck in NYC Crash

Carrie Bernans, known for roles in ‘Black Panther’ and ‘The Color Purple,’ sustains injuries after being pinned under a food truck in a midtown Manhattan crash involving a driver fleeing police.

Renowned for her roles in “Black Panther” and “The Color Purple,” actress and stunt performer Carrie Bernans faced a harrowing ordeal in midtown Manhattan during the early hours of New Year’s Day. Bernans was pinned under a food truck after a driver, evading police pursuit, recklessly plowed into pedestrians near Penn Station.

Suffering from broken bones and chipped teeth, Bernans remains in considerable pain following the collision, as shared by her mother on Instagram. However, her publicist has not yet provided any comment on her condition.

The driver, a 44-year-old man attempting to escape law enforcement around 1:30 a.m., veered onto the sidewalk, injuring several pedestrians. Although none of the injuries were life-threatening, the driver faces multiple charges including attempted murder, reckless endangerment, and driving while intoxicated.

This alarming incident occurred close to Times Square, where New Year’s celebrations had recently concluded. Bernans, aged 29, known for her portrayal as a member of the Dora Milaje in “Black Panther,” and her involvement in the musical adaptation of “The Color Purple,” released last month, is a mother but fortunately was without her child at the time of the accident.
