Lee Sun-kyun, the acclaimed South Korean actor celebrated for his role in the Oscar-winning film “Parasite,” was discovered deceased in a car in Seoul, South Korea, authorities confirmed. This tragic revelation comes after an extensive police search following reports of the actor’s disappearance.
Seoul’s Seongbuk police station informed that Lee, 48, was found initially in an unconscious state within the parked car in northern Seoul. Emergency responders later confirmed his passing. The circumstances surrounding his demise, including the possibility of self-inflicted harm, have not been disclosed by the authorities.
Media reports, citing sources including Yonhap news agency, indicated that Lee’s family had reported his departure from home after a message resembling a suicide note was discovered.
Lee’s body has been moved to a nearby Seoul hospital, as detailed by Seongbuk police.
