Varun Dhawan aka Bhediya Makes Surprise Cameo in “Munjya”
The highly anticipated horror comedy Munjya released worldwide today, captivating audiences with its unique concept and the catchy song ‘Taras.’ As part of the Maddock Supernatural Universe, which includes Stree (2018) and Bhediya (2022), Munjya has generated significant buzz, particularly regarding potential connections to its predecessor films.
In a thrilling twist, Munjya delivers a major surprise: Varun Dhawan, known for his role as Bhediya, makes a crucial cameo. This unexpected appearance not only delights fans but also sets the stage for future developments within the Maddock Supernatural Universe. The scene hints at what to expect in the next installment of Bhediya, further heightening excitement for the franchise.
Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya stars Sharvari and Abhay Verma. Produced by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films, the story revolves around a menacing spirit tied to a tree in a sleepy seaside town in Konkan, Maharashtra. The plot thickens when the spirit attaches itself to an awkward Pune boy, leading to chaos and havoc.
The Maddock Supernatural Universe launched spectacularly with Stree in 2018, featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao under the direction of Amar Kaushik. This film became one of the biggest hits of the year. The universe expanded with Roohi (2021), starring Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, followed by Bhediya with Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon.
The next film in this supernatural series is Stree 2, slated for release on August 30 this year, which has already garnered immense pre-release hype. Bhediya 2 was announced last year at a Jio Studios event and is expected to hit theaters in 2025.
Varun Dhawan’s cameo in Munjya not only connects the dots within the Maddock Supernatural Universe but also raises anticipation for the upcoming films. As fans eagerly await the release of Stree 2 and Bhediya 2, Munjya serves as a thrilling addition, promising more spine-chilling and humorous adventures ahead.
