Walmart Drone Delivery Coming Soon to North Richland Hills

Walmart announces the launch of drone delivery services in North Richland Hills, starting as early as next week. The service, operated by Wing, will cover residents within a 4-mile radius, including nearby Keller.

Residents of North Richland Hills and nearby Keller are set to experience the future of delivery services as Walmart introduces drone delivery to its stores in the area.

The Walmart Supercenter located on North Tarrant Parkway is slated to initiate drone delivery as early as next week, with the store on NE Loop 820 following suit the week after. The service is expected to cover anyone residing within a 4-mile radius of these stores, providing convenient access to a range of products.

Operated by drone delivery company Wing, the service promises swift deliveries with drones capable of traveling up to 65 mph and flying at altitudes of about 150 feet. However, due to payload limitations, the drones can only carry items weighing up to 2.3 pounds, making them ideal for smaller purchases.

To ensure the seamless integration of this innovative delivery method, Walmart and Wing will conduct test flights from the North Tarrant Parkway store to Tommy & Sue Brown Park on Thursday and to JB Sandlin Park on Friday, scheduled between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

The implementation of drone delivery follows North Richland Hills’ approval of the program in February, marking a significant step towards enhancing accessibility and convenience for residents in the area. As Walmart continues to embrace technological advancements, the launch of drone delivery signifies a new era in retail and logistics services.
