Vidya Balan recounts being labeled “unlucky” and replaced from a dozen films after her project with Mohanlal was shelved.
Actress Vidya Balan bravely shared insights into her early struggles in the film industry, revealing how she was replaced from numerous projects and branded “unlucky” after a film with Mohanlal got shelved.
Vidya Balan opened up about the challenging period in her career. Recalling the heartbreak of being replaced from a dozen films and enduring the label of being “unlucky,” she described it as a devastating time that shook her resolve to continue in the industry.
Despite the setbacks, Vidya’s determination remained unshaken. She spoke of crying herself to sleep every night but finding the strength to persevere each morning, fueled by an unwavering fire within her.
The turning point came after facing repeated setbacks, particularly when a project with Mohanlal was shelved, further reinforcing the “unlucky” label. Vidya recounted a painful incident where a producer refused to meet her, citing her purportedly unlucky fate as determined by her ‘kundli’ (astrological chart).
However, Vidya’s resilience ultimately paid off. Following the success of “Lage Raho Munna Bhai,” the tables turned, and the same producer who had once rejected her approached her for a significant project.
On the professional front, Vidya is gearing up for the release of “Do Aur Do Pyaar,” where she stars alongside Pratik Gandhi, Ileana D’Cruz, and Sendhil Ramamurthy. Directed by Shirsha Guha Thakurta, the film is set to hit screens on April 19.
Vidya’s journey serves as a testament to her strength and determination, proving that resilience in the face of adversity can ultimately lead to triumph.
