UPS Worker Dies in Tragic Accident After Falling into Trash Compactor at Dallas Facility

Juan Chavez, a 68-year-old UPS worker, tragically died after falling into a trash compactor at a Dallas facility. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene.

Authorities have released the name of a United Parcel Service (UPS) worker who tragically died after falling into a trash compactor at a Dallas facility last week. Juan Chavez, 68, was found dead at the bottom of the compactor at the UPS facility on Monroe Drive by responding Dallas Fire-Rescue EMTs and police on Thursday, May 16.

Emergency personnel were called to the building shortly before 11 a.m. following reports of an industrial accident. Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Urban Search and Rescue Team arrived at the scene to help extricate Chavez. His condition was unknown at the time of the incident, but he was pronounced dead upon the arrival of first responders.

UPS released a statement on Thursday, expressing deep sorrow over the tragic loss of their employee. The company is cooperating with authorities to investigate the incident and is providing support to Chavez’s family during this difficult time.
