Juan Chavez, 68, was found dead at the bottom of the compactor at the UPS facility on Monroe Drive by responding Dallas Fire-Rescue EMTs and police on Thursday, May 16.
Emergency personnel were called to the building shortly before 11 a.m. following reports of an industrial accident. Dallas Fire-Rescue’s Urban Search and Rescue Team arrived at the scene to help extricate Chavez. His condition was unknown at the time of the incident, but he was pronounced dead upon the arrival of first responders.
