North Texas is gearing up for an unsettled weather pattern, as moisture continues to flow into the region. A series of weather disturbances is expected to bring rain chances for the week ahead, providing welcome relief for the area’s ongoing drought situation. By the end of the week, a cold front will also bring temperatures down to more typical levels.

The week begins with overcast skies and cooler conditions, offering a 20% chance of showers. The temperature is expected to reach a high of 65 degrees after a low of 53. A northern wind at 10-15 mph will add to the cooler feel.

The National Weather Service forecasts an active weather week with daily rain chances throughout the region. In Dallas County, a 40% chance of rain is expected, with the day starting mostly cloudy and gradually becoming partly sunny. There’s a chance of showers, as well as a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon.

The Dallas area will experience rain showers in the evening, leading to overcast skies overnight, with a low of 71. Winds from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph will maintain a 40% chance of rain.
