According to authorities, the pedestrian was trying to cross the busy roadway when a vehicle struck them, resulting in a fatal outcome. The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time.
Due to the accident, all lanes of the interstate had to be temporarily closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene and cleared the area. Commuters and travelers experienced delays as a result.
