Taylor Swift Show Organizer in Brazil Fined $120,000 Over Ticketing Issues

Time for Fun, the company behind Taylor Swift’s concerts in São Paulo, Brazil, faces fines totaling $120,000 due to ticketing complications and consumer complaints, including inadequate services and mishandling of VIP packages.

Time for Fun, the Brazilian company responsible for organizing Taylor Swift‘s recent São Paulo concerts, is under scrutiny, receiving fines amounting to approximately $120,000. São Paulo’s consumer protection agency, Procon, issued the penalties due to the mishandling of ticket purchases for Swift’s Eras Tour and the 2020 and 2023 editions of the Lollapalooza festival.

Procon highlighted various consumer complaints regarding inadequate services, violation of the company’s terms and conditions, mismanagement of virtual queues, and issues with instructions for refunds and VIP packages. Despite these grievances, Time for Fun has not yet responded to the allegations.

The regulatory actions follow an inquiry launched in Rio de Janeiro after a fan’s death at Swift’s initial show due to reported unbearable conditions amid extreme heat and limited access to water. Furthermore, the ticketing chaos during the sale period prompted legislative discussions, culminating in the proposal of a bill colloquially termed the “Taylor Swift law,” aiming to tackle ticket scalping issues in Brazil.
