SRK’s ‘Dunki’ Witnesses Post-Christmas Dip, Eyes Rs. 200 Crore Mark

Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Dunki’ registers a drop to Rs. 9.75 crores on Day 6 post-Christmas, facing competition from ‘Salaar.’ Despite an average hold, the film eyes the Rs. 200 crore milestone, with the second weekend determining its long-term success.

Christmas holiday weekend, Shah Rukh Khan‘s ‘Dunki,’ directed by Rajkumar Hirani, has experienced a decline in business. After an impressive Rs. 125 crores collection over its 5-day holiday stretch, ‘Dunki‘ recorded an estimated Rs. 9.75 crores on its 6th day, bringing the total to Rs. 135 crores.

The film witnessed a 55 percent dip in numbers compared to Monday, marking an average hold. The opening week is projected to reach Rs. 143 crores, with a further expected dip of 7 to 10 percent on Wednesday.

Dunki‘ faces a competitive landscape, with average performance in multiplexes and below-par figures in single screens. The clash with ‘Salaar‘ in mass belts has contributed to a 10 to 12 percent dent in prospects over the past 5 days.

Despite being a Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani collaboration during the Christmas period, ‘Dunki‘ faces uncertainties regarding its hit status.

The film’s long-term success, aiming for the Rs. 200 crore mark, hinges on its performance in the second weekend. Observing the trend from this point forward will be crucial in determining the film’s trajectory.
