It’s hard to believe it’s been 17 years since Ram Shankar Nikumbh, our art teacher at Tulip school, taught us that every child is unique. Now, Aamir Khan is making a much-anticipated return to the big screen with his film, Sitaare Zameen Par. His production company, Aamir Khan Productions, just dropped the trailer on various social media platforms, captioned, ‘1 Tingu Basketball Coach, 10 Toofani Sitaare aur unki journey.’
In the trailer, Aamir plays Gulshan, a once-renowned basketball coach whose career has hit a rough patch due to his tough demeanor and politically incorrect behavior. After a drunken driving incident lands him in legal trouble, the court assigns him the task of training a group of individuals with intellectual disabilities for a national championship. This unexpected challenge leads to transformative experiences for both him and his team, the ‘Sitaare.’
Directed by R. S Prasanna, this sports drama showcases a fresh lineup of young talent: Aroush Dutta, Gopi Krishnan Varma, Vedant Sharmaa, Naman Misra, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Sahani, Rishab Jain, Samvit Desai, Simran Mangeshkar, and Aayush Bhansali. The cast also features actress Genelia Deshmukh, who plays Aamir’s love interest, Dolly Ahluwalia, along with Gurpal Singh and Brijendra Kala.
