Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor Team Up for a Love Story by Maddock Films
It seems both producer Dinesh Vijan and actor Sidharth Malhotra are ready for a change of pace. Vijan, who scored big in the comedy-horror space with Stree 2 and Munjya, and Sidharth, who hasn’t had as much luck in the action genre, are shifting gears.
Sidharth Malhotra has decided to step away from action for now. After completing Yodha, he opted out of another action film, Mitti, and signed on for a love story with producer Dinesh Vijan and Maddock Films. The untitled project, directed by Tushar Jalota (who directed Abhishek Bachchan in Dasvi), will co-star Janhvi Kapoor.
This film marks the first time Malhotra will team up with Janhvi Kapoor, who received encouraging reviews for her two releases this year, Mr & Mrs Mahi and Ulajh.
Sidharth Malhotra has faced a rough patch in his career recently. Hopefully, teaming up with Janhvi will bring success for both actors.
Malhotra’s recent box office performance hasn’t been strong. Even his much-anticipated OTT debut, Indian Police Force, didn’t live up to expectations. His only bonafide hits so far have been his debut film Student Of The Year, Ek Villain, and Shershaah, where he co-starred with his future wife, Kiara Advani.
Marriage seems to have brought luck to Kiara. Her first post-marriage release, Satyaprem Ki Katha, became a big hit, and she has signed some of her career’s biggest films, including Don 3, after marriage.
