Starring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, Shaitaan begins with a promising premise but ultimately descends into an unpleasant mess. As the story unfolds, Kabir and his family encounter a mysterious stranger named Vanraj, leading to unforeseen consequences that challenge their sanity and safety.

Script Analysis:
Initially intriguing, Shaitaan’s narrative loses its grip in the second half, failing to deliver on the suspense and terror promised by its premise. While the first half builds tension effectively, the screenplay falters in the latter portion, leaving viewers frustrated with unanswered questions and a lackluster climax. Despite R Madhavan’s commendable performance as the enigmatic Vanraj, the film’s inability to capitalize on its intriguing setup ultimately undermines its potential.

Star Performance:
R Madhavan impresses as the unsettling Vanraj, infusing the character with mystery and menace. However, Ajay Devgn’s portrayal of Kabir feels derivative, lacking the depth and nuance needed to elevate the role beyond clichés. Janki Bodiwala delivers a standout performance as Janvi, effectively conveying the character’s turmoil as she grapples with possession and terror.

Direction, Music:
Director Vikas Bahl succeeds in creating an eerie atmosphere, utilizing atmospheric locations and visuals to heighten the sense of dread. However, the film’s direction falters in the climax, failing to deliver a satisfying resolution to the story’s mysteries. Amit Trivedi’s music adds to the film’s atmosphere, but ultimately fails to compensate for its narrative shortcomings.

The Last Word:
Despite its initial promise, Shaitaan ultimately disappoints with its lackluster execution and unsatisfying conclusion. While R Madhavan delivers a memorable performance, the film’s muddled screenplay and underdeveloped characters prevent it from reaching its full potential. Overall, Shaitaan falls short of expectations, leaving viewers craving a more compelling and coherent supernatural thriller.
