Filmmaker Siddharth Anand has stirred up excitement on social media with his recent posts, hinting at a much-anticipated project. After sharing a picture with Saif Ali Khan, he confirmed their collaboration after 17 years, sparking anticipation among fans. Now, Anand has revealed the title of their upcoming venture with a new Instagram post: Jewel Thief – The Red Sun Chapter.
Produced under ‘Marflix Pictures’ by Siddharth Anand and Mamta Anand, and directed by Robbie Grewal, this project has garnered high expectations, particularly with the inclusion of Saif Ali Khan and Jaideep Ahlawat in pivotal roles. Described as a heist drama, the film is set to unfold a battle between Khan and Ahlawat and is slated for a direct-to-digital release.
Currently filming in Budapest, the project marks the first collaboration between Robbie Grewal and Saif Ali Khan, while Siddharth Anand and Saif Ali Khan have previously worked together on projects like Salaam Namaste and Ta Ra Rum Pum.
The screenplay, jointly penned by Grewal, Anand, and Sambit Mishra, promises a gripping tale of wit and strategy against the backdrop of a high-stakes heist. Speculation has been rife since Netflix reportedly acquired the rights to the film for a whopping sum of Rs. 60 crore, adding further anticipation for this upcoming cinematic spectacle.
