Rashmika Mandanna Talks About Her Unique Role in Kuberaa at Song Launch Event

Rashmika Mandanna, known for her versatility and powerful performances, is set to surprise fans with her most unique role yet in the upcoming social thriller Kuberaa. At the recent launch event for the film’s song Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum, the actress shared insights into her character and the experience of working on this much-anticipated project.

Speaking about her role, Rashmika hinted that audiences are in for something very different. “Somedays you have to be Geetanjali, somedays you have to be Srivalli, somedays you have to be Maharani Yesubai. Yes, and somedays you have to be her,” she teased, referring to her yet-unnamed character in Kuberaa. “No, you haven’t seen me in this avatar before,” she added, keeping further details under wraps but fueling curiosity.

Rashmika also emphasized her method of completely surrendering to the director’s vision. “Each director has their own flavor, and that is how I get to play such a variety of roles. She is extremely different, and I cannot reveal too much, but she will be a very exciting and unique character,” she explained.

The event also highlighted the new song Pippi Pippi Dum Dum Dum, which Rashmika described as a refreshing twist on the heartbreak genre. “We are generally happy to get songs where a guy is heartbroken and stuff, but this is the female perspective—a fun take on a heartbreak song,” she said, appreciating its lively and relatable tone.

Directed and co-written by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa is a social thriller slated for release on 20 June 2025. The film is being shot simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi, and features an ensemble cast including Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Jim Sarbh, Dalip Tahil, and Rashmika Mandanna. Produced by Suniel Narang and Puskur Rammohan Rao under Amigos Creations, with music composed by Devi Sri Prasad, the film is already among the most awaited of 2025.

With Rashmika teasing a never-before-seen avatar and a vibrant soundtrack setting the tone, Kuberaa promises to deliver a compelling cinematic experience that blends emotion, suspense, and fresh perspectives.
