Ranbir Kapoor Seals Deal with Sanjay Leela Bhansali for ‘Love & War’ on His Own Terms

After a public fallout in 2007, Ranbir Kapoor and Sanjay Leela Bhansali reunite for ‘Love & War.’ Kapoor, now a superstar, sets strict conditions in the contract, including fixed working hours and a commitment to wrap up the shoot by July 2025.

The Indian Film Industry witnessed an unexpected reunion as Sanjay Leela Bhansali announced his collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor on ‘Love & War.’ The announcement follows a public fallout in 2007 after the release of ‘Sawaariya.’ Sources close to the development reveal that Bhansali, a fan of Kapoor’s work, sees this project as a way to create a successful film with the actor he launched.

Despite the eagerness of most actors to work with Bhansali, Ranbir Kapoor, now a superstar, has signed on for ‘Love & War‘ on his own terms and conditions. Sources state that Kapoor, having matured since ‘Sawaariya,’ aims for a civil shooting environment and has specified conditions in the contract. The terms include a commitment to adhere to the shooting schedule, with filming set to begin in November 2024 and conclude by July 2025.

One of the conditions emphasizes fixed working hours, ensuring a disciplined and organized set. This clause addresses past experiences of erratic work timing during ‘Sawaariya.’ Ranbir Kapoor, balancing multiple commitments, has requested Bhansali to wrap up the film on time, aligning with his schedule starting August 2025.

The source reveals that Alia Bhatt played a pivotal role in reconciling Kapoor and Bhansali, facilitating a mature discussion where both parties put forth their terms and conditions. ‘Love & War‘ is set to go on floors in November 2024, aiming for a Christmas 2025 release, marking a significant collaboration in Indian cinema.
