Pushpa 2: The Rule digital rights acquired by Netflix for Rs 275 crores

Netflix has bought the digital streaming rights for the highly anticipated film Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, for an astounding Rs 275 crores. This deal ranks among the largest in Indian cinema, highlighting the growing importance of digital platforms in the film industry.

The film has already generated Rs 1085 crores in pre-release business, further showcasing its massive potential. Sukumar directs Pushpa 2, with Mythri Movie Makers producing it. The movie will hit theaters worldwide on December 6, 2024.

This digital rights deal contributes significantly to the film’s non-theatrical earnings, which amount to Rs 425 crores. Industry experts credit Allu Arjun’s National Award win for Best Actor with driving Netflix’s interest and investment.

Following the success of Pushpa: The Rise in 2021, the sequel is expected to draw a large audience both in theaters and on Netflix. The sale of theatrical rights for Rs 640 crores across various regions further emphasizes the film’s wide appeal.
