Prabhas’ The Raja Saab to Release on January 9, 2026
Prabhas’ much-anticipated film The Raja Saab has finally locked its release date. After months of speculation, producer TG Vishwa Prasad officially confirmed at the Mirai trailer launch that the movie will hit theatres worldwide on January 9, 2026, making it a special Sankranthi release.
Directed by Maruthi, the horror-comedy stars Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, and Riddhi Kumar in key female roles. The film also features Sanjay Dutt in a crucial role, adding more star power to the project. With music composed by Thaman, expectations are high for both its soundtrack and cinematic experience.
The announcement ends the confusion surrounding its release date, which initially oscillated between December 5, 2025, and January 9, 2026. By locking Sankranthi, the makers have ensured the film enters one of the most lucrative festive frames in Indian cinema.
However, The Raja Saab won’t have a smooth ride at the box office. This Sankranthi is shaping up to be one of the biggest multi-film clashes in recent years. Prabhas’ film will face stiff competition from Chiranjeevi’s mass entertainer Mana Shankar Vara Prasad Garu, Vijay’s Tamil biggie Jana Nayagan, and Naveen Polishetty’s comedy Anaganaga Oka Roju.
Each project brings unique strengths: Prabhas with his pan-India stardom, Chiranjeevi’s family appeal, Vijay’s Tamil market dominance, and Naveen Polishetty’s youth connect. Trade circles predict the Pongal 2026 frame could deliver record-breaking box-office numbers, with fans eagerly waiting to see which film takes the crown.
With its mix of horror, comedy, and star-studded casting, The Raja Saab is expected to be a major highlight of the festive season.
