Paresh Rawal Reveals Real Reason Behind Quitting Hera Pheri 3
Veteran actor Paresh Rawal finally opened up about his sudden exit from Hera Pheri 3, breaking his silence after reports claimed that Akshay Kumar sent him a legal notice over the decision. Rawal, who immortalized the role of Baburao Ganpatrao Apte, said he no longer felt connected to the film.
In an interview with Mid-Day, Rawal explained, “I know it came as a shock to many. We three make a great combination with Priyadarshanji directing us, but the fact is that I opted out because today I don’t feel like a part of it.” He confirmed that he made this decision after serious thought and that he has no plans to return.
According report, Akshay Kumar sent a legal notice to Rawal, seeking damages. The report claimed that Rawal signed a contract, began filming, and then abruptly exited, which Kumar found unprofessional.
Despite the buzz, Rawal clarified that he didn’t leave because of creative issues. “I wish to put it on record that my decision to step away from Hera Pheri 3 was not due to creative differences. I reiterate that there are no creative disagreements with the filmmaker. I hold immense love, respect, and faith in Mr. Priyadarshan,” he said in a statement.
Fans expressed disappointment over his departure, especially since his portrayal of Baburao remains one of the most beloved comic characters in Indian cinema since Hera Pheri first released in 2000.
Sources revealed that Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, and Paresh Rawal had already begun filming. Kumar, who also co-produces the film, reportedly offered Rawal more than three times his usual fee to reprise his role. With Rawal stepping away, the team now faces the challenge of continuing the film without a character many consider the heart of the franchise.
