Murder Warrant Issued for Suspect in Fatal Shooting of 17-Year-Old in Southern Dallas

A murder warrant has been issued for 17-year-old Trevon Darnell Wright following the tragic shooting death of 17-year-old Ikea Imari Hood in Southern Dallas. Dallas Police initiated a search for Wright in connection with the incident that occurred Sunday morning on Grambling Drive.

Responding to a shooting report around 10:40 a.m., authorities discovered Hood, sustaining a gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save her, Hood succumbed to her injuries. The motive behind the shooting remains undisclosed as Dallas Police continue their active investigation.

Hood, a student within the Lancaster ISD, tragically lost her life just as the district resumed classes after the winter break. Lancaster High School announced plans to offer counseling and grief support for students and staff coping with the devastating loss.
