After a statewide Amber Alert and an extensive investigation, Ian Aguilar, missing since his mother’s tragic death, was discovered unharmed in Mexico and safely returned to his family, as law enforcement agencies on both sides of the border collaborated tirelessly.
Following an Amber Alert issued in Dallas County after the tragic discovery of his mother’s death, 10-year-old Ian Aguilar has been found unharmed in Mexico and successfully reunited with his family in the United States. The Wilmer Police Department confirmed the discontinuation of the Amber Alert on Saturday, emphasizing the culmination of efforts from various law enforcement agencies across the U.S. and Mexico.
The alert was issued on November 14 after Ian’s mother, Zoleika Arzate-Lopez, was found deceased in their North Texas home. Juan Aguilar-Cano, Ian’s father and the suspect in the Amber Alert, is being sought in connection with the case.
Aguilar-Cano, last sighted in Houston according to recent updates, is considered a person of interest in the ongoing investigation. The vehicle initially linked to the abduction was discovered abandoned at a bus station. Further investigation revealed that it had no association with the incident and was found to be unrelated to the abduction.
This successful reunion and discovery were a result of the collective efforts and extensive investigation by numerous law enforcement agencies, reinforcing the power of collaboration in ensuring the safe return of missing individuals.
