McKinney Hit-and-Run Claims Life of 14-Year-Old Boy
McKinney, Texas – A tragic hit-and-run accident in McKinney claimed the life of a 14-year-old boy on Saturday evening. Authorities are now urgently seeking the driver responsible for the collision.
The incident occurred near Lake Forest Drive and Highlands Drive at approximately 6:14 p.m. According to McKinney police, the boy was struck by a dark 4-door sedan, which then fled the scene.
Another motorist stopped to assist the injured teen, and emergency responders quickly transported him to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, the young boy was pronounced dead shortly after.
Police described the suspect vehicle as having possible front-end damage and a broken passenger side mirror.
McKinney Police Chief Joe Ellenburg released a statement addressing the tragedy:
“This is a devastating tragedy for the family and community. We extend our deepest condolences to the family and remain committed to finding the individual responsible for this terrible incident.”
The identity of the victim has not been released, pending notification of the family.
