Kareena Kapoor Khan Calls The Buckingham Murders a Brave Film in Her 25th Year in Bollywood
Kareena Kapoor Khan, celebrating 25 years in Bollywood, recently discussed her new release, The Buckingham Murders. The film, which marks her debut as a producer, hits cinemas on September 13, 2024. Known for her glamorous roles, Kareena takes on a new challenge as a cop dealing with a traumatic past, showcasing a different side of her acting.
Kareena shared, “I think The Buckingham Murders is a very brave film. We aimed to create something authentic and true to its setting. The story unfolds in a small town in England, and we used a mix of Hindi, English, and Hinglish to stay close to reality. After 25 years in the industry, I felt it was time to experiment. This film gave me that opportunity, similar to what Chameli and Dev did early in my career.”
Directed by Hansal Mehta, The Buckingham Murders represents Kareena’s first full-fledged suspense drama, marking a significant departure from her previous roles. The film’s authenticity and mixed-language dialogues have resonated with audiences, receiving praise for its unique approach.
The movie features a talented cast including Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen. Written by Aseem Arrora, Kashyap Kapoor, and Raghav Raj Kakker, the film comes from Mahana Films and TBM Films, presented by Balaji Telefilms, and produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
The Buckingham Murders is now showing in cinemas in both Hindi and English, offering a gripping narrative that explores themes of trauma, investigation, and resilience.
