Alia Bhatt, a leading star in Indian cinema, is also making waves as a producer. Following the success of her Netflix dark comedy Darlings, she’s back in the producer’s seat for her next venture, Jigra. Directed by Vasan Bala, this thrilling action-packed prison break film stars Alia alongside Vedang Raina. The story centers around a devoted sister willing to go to any lengths to save her brother.
The teaser sets a dramatic tone, showing Alia as a fierce character with only her brother by her side as he races against time. The gripping visuals alternate between touching sibling moments and high-octane action scenes—Alia breaking through prison walls, dodging bullets, and outrunning explosions, all in the name of family.
Jigra is produced by Alia Bhatt in collaboration with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, Shaheen Bhatt, Somen Mishra, and co-producer Marijke DeSouza. Written by Debashish Irengbam and Vasan Bala, the film is slated to release on October 11.
