India’s dominant run in the Cricket World Cup 2023 continues with a resounding victory over England. Rohit Sharma led from the front as India secured a 100-run win.

India 229 for 8 (Rohit 87, Suryakumar 49, Willey 3-45) beat England 129 (Livingstone 27, Shami 4-22, Bumrah 3-32) by 100 runs

Rohit Sharma showcased exceptional leadership by scoring 87 runs off 101 balls, contributing significantly to India’s total of 221/9 on a challenging pitch. In response, England struggled to counter the formidable Indian bowling attack, spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah.

The English team was eventually dismissed for just 129 runs in 34.5 overs.

Alongside Rohit, Suryakumar Yadav made a significant contribution with 49 runs during the closing stages of India’s innings.

Mohammed Shami, who achieved a five-wicket haul in a previous match, continued his excellent form, taking four wickets in the seven overs he bowled. Jasprit Bumrah also delivered an impressive performance, with figures of 3/32, while spinners Ravindra Jadeja and Kuldeep Yadav combined to claim three wickets.

India’s undefeated streak now spans six matches, positioning them at the top of the tournament table with 12 points. In contrast, England, with only one win from six matches, currently occupies the bottom spot in the ten-team competition.
