Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter Begins Decently at Box Office: Day 1 Collection and Competition with War

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter kicks off with a decent box office collection on its opening day.

Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone’s much-anticipated movie, Fighter, has commenced its box office journey with a decent start on its opening day. Despite releasing on a working day, January 25, 2024, the film has garnered positive initial numbers. Trade experts anticipate an upswing in collections during the Republic holiday and the approaching weekend. Siddharth Anand’s directorial venture has received praise from film critics, particularly highlighting Hrithik Roshan’s stellar performance.

On its first day, Fighter raked in approximately 22 crore across all languages in India. While the figures might not match up to other recent releases, such as Animal or Pathaan, industry experts remain confident in the film’s potential for a robust performance based on positive word of mouth. Siddharth Anand, following the Pathaan strategy, opted for a low-profile promotion, believing the film would speak for itself upon release. The box office outcomes during Republic Day and the upcoming weekend are expected to provide a clearer picture of Fighter’s fate.

However, Fighter falls short of surpassing Siddharth Anand’s previous blockbuster, War, in terms of opening day box office numbers. War, which collected around 53 crore on its first day, continues to hold the benchmark. While Fighter has made a promising start, it faces the challenge of surpassing or matching up to the box office success achieved by War.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter also features Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and others in key roles. Originally scheduled for release on September 30, 2022, the film faced delays in post-production due to the COVID-19 pandemic, leading to its eventual release in 2024.
