The trailer of Housefull 5 has taken the internet by storm—not just for its comedy and star-studded cast, but for a surprising twist in its format. During the trailer launch, producer Sajid Nadiadwala announced that the film will feature two completely different endings, with alternate versions showing in different theatres and even at different showtimes.

“So, if you see it at Gaiety, you’ll see one character playing the killer, but at Galaxy, someone else will be the culprit,” Sajid explained. “Even in the same auditorium, different show timings will have different actors revealed as the killer. This is happening in the world for the first time.”

Trade Experts Share Mixed Reactions

Trade expert Taran Adarsh acknowledged the uniqueness of the concept, stating, “People have shot two endings before, like with Sholay (1975), but releasing two versions is unheard of. It’s interesting and might tempt audiences to watch it twice—but the content needs to be strong to ensure repeat value.”

Vishek Chauhan, a cinema owner from Bihar, called it “a novelty” and praised the strategy for sparking conversation. “The worst thing is when a film is ignored. If people are talking—good or bad—it helps the film,” he emphasized.

Meanwhile, Atul Mohan expressed cautious optimism, noting the experiment’s originality but also its potential pitfalls. “Today, audiences hesitate to watch a film even once. The idea of watching two versions may be too much to ask unless the experience is truly compelling,” he said. He also highlighted the need for clear communication to avoid confusion among viewers about which version they are watching.
