Farhan Akhtar Seeks Three A-List Male Leads for “Jee Le Zara”
A source close to Farhan Akhtar confirms that the director remains committed to his ambitious project, “Jee Le Zara,” featuring a star-studded cast of Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt. Despite recent rumors suggesting otherwise, Farhan continues working on the film, though production won’t begin immediately.
The source states, “Farhan sees no reason to deny all the fabricated stories. He is very much committed to the project and to making the film only with the handpicked cast of Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, and Alia Bhatt. The cast remains. Their dates are being coordinated. Farhan will make Jee Le Zara after he gets into Don 3.”
The real challenge lies in casting the male leads. Farhan Akhtar seeks three A-list leading men who aren’t the usual choices for films with strong female roles. “Farhan wants three A-list leading men for the male parts, not the usual suspects routinely brought on board for films featuring author-backed roles for women,” the source explains.
Unfortunately, male A-listers in Bollywood often shy away from films where women are the main focus. This hesitation complicates the casting process for “Jee Le Zara.” The source adds, “In our film industry, male A-listers shy away from films featuring women at the forefront. Shah Rukh Khan had said no to Sanjay Bhansali’s Padmaavat when it was titled Padmaavati.”
Despite some reports suggesting that Farhan Akhtar plans to “revive” the project, the source clarifies that “Jee Le Zara” has not started yet. “Some entertainment outlets ‘revive’ dormant stories when they have nothing to fill their space.
Farhan Akhtar’s next likely directorial venture is “Don 3” with Ranveer Singh, although it too faces delays as the script undergoes further refinement.
