According to witnesses, Nino-Herrera was with a group of friends at Trinity Overlook when a fight broke out, escalating into gunfire. Stray bullets hit her as multiple shooters fired from a moving black Dodge Charger.

“I saw people shooting at anything they could see,” said Rena Garcia, a 19-year-old witness.

Family Pleads for Justice
Nino-Herrera’s mother and sister are demanding answers and urging an end to gun violence.

“She had plans. She had hopes. She had dreams,” said her mother, Marcela Nino.

“It wasn’t right. That is the least my sister deserves,” added her sister, Aileen Marie Nino.

Ongoing Investigation
Dallas police have yet to provide details about suspects or what led to the shooting, only confirming that the investigation is ongoing.
