Dunki Box Office Collection Day 1: Shah Rukh Khan’s Lowest Opener of the Year at ₹30 Crore
Shah Rukh Khan’s latest release, ‘Dunki,’ sees a subdued day one box office collection of ₹30 crore, marking the actor’s least opening figure this year.
Shah Rukh Khan‘s much-anticipated film ‘Dunki‘ hit theaters with a subdued opening, marking the actor’s lowest box office debut this year.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, ‘Dunki‘ made its way into cinemas on Thursday, showcasing what has been described as ‘a good start’ at the domestic box office. However, the initial collection of ₹30 crore nett in India for all languages positions it as Shah Rukh Khan‘s least opening movie of the year.
Comparatively, Shah Rukh Khan’s earlier releases ‘Pathaan‘ and ‘Jawan‘ fared significantly better on their respective first days.
‘Dunki,’ featuring a stellar cast including Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover, faces competition from ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire,’ a period action drama starring Prabhas and Prithviraj Sukumaran, releasing the following day.
Khan’s previous blockbuster hits, ‘Pathaan’ and ‘Jawan,’ each crossed the ₹1,000 crore mark worldwide, contributing significantly to reviving the struggling Hindi film exhibition sector. ‘Dunki‘ marks a less robust start in comparison, setting a different tone for its box office trajectory.
