Denton Independent School District is the latest to join a lawsuit against TEA over school ratings.

The Denton Independent School District is the latest school district to join a lawsuit against the Texas Education Agency.

Around 80 districts statewide – including Dallas, Fort Worth, Frisco, Plano, Prosper, and Red Oak ISD – have joined the lawsuit over the TEA’s latest accountability ratings.

The current rating system will give districts and their schools grades from A based on their test results, academic growth, graduation rates, and how well students are prepared for college or a career after high school.

At the beginning of this year, the TEA announced these changes in the rating system when students returned full-time to the schools.

The ratings will be based on measures that have yet to be decided.
