Dallas Weather: Heavy Rain in the Forecast for North Texas

DALLAS – North Texas will experience rain as cool, cloudy skies give way to showers later this week. On Tuesday, expect cloudy conditions with isolated showers and temperatures in the upper 50s. Rain chances will increase overnight into Wednesday, reaching 30%.

By Wednesday, the rain chances will rise to 70%, with showers and storms expected. Temperatures will stay around 60°F, and the skies will remain cloudy. Small hail and gusty winds could occur, especially south of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex.

From Wednesday night through Thursday morning, heavy downpours will bring rainfall totals that may exceed 1 inch in many areas, with some locations seeing 2-3 inches.

Though storms won’t be severe, wind gusts up to 40 mph and small hail remain possible.

On Thursday, storms will move eastward by the afternoon, and temperatures will reach the mid-60s. Friday will bring drier conditions and plenty of sunshine by the evening.

The weekend will bring sunny, windy weather, with temperatures reaching the 70s by early next week. North Texas will see a warmer start to February.
