The Ukrainian Cultural Club of Dallas organized an auto rally to mark the 2-year anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The event aimed to raise awareness and remind people of the ongoing struggle in Ukraine. Every car that showed up was decorated in Ukrainian colors, and many showcased the country’s flag. The rally aimed to attract attention and collect more help for Ukraine.

The rally started in Downtown Dallas and headed to I-35, then back on I-635 to end in Richardson. The caravan of cars showed support for the war-stricken country, and the event aimed to remind people that the war isn’t over. Nadya Brown, whose family fled their home when the war started, remarked, “‘Is today some special day?’ Perhaps this will prompt them to open their minds, conduct some research, or serve as a reminder to those already acquainted with the political landscape.”

The U.S. has already given Ukraine hundreds of billions of dollars in aid, but the latest aid package remains stalled in Congress. Olena Jacobs, a member of the Ukrainian Cultural Club of Dallas, said, “We hope it’s just a temporary delay and the U.S. will not stop supporting Ukraine.” Jacobs works to raise awareness about the ongoing struggle in Ukraine and said, “We just invite everyone to do what is right, and also hopefully, we can collect some more help. The need in Ukraine is great.”
