Dallas Police and Firefighters Treat 100 Children to $100 Target Shopping Sprees

Dallas law enforcement teams up with children from the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center for a heartwarming ‘Shop with a Cop’ event, where over 100 kids receive $100 Target gift cards to shop for holiday gifts, bringing joy and comfort during the season.

Dallas Police Department and Dallas Fire-Rescue joined forces for the annual ‘Shop with a Cop‘ initiative, gifting over 100 children from the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center $100 each for a special shopping spree at Target.

At the Old East Dallas location, police officers and firefighters partnered with the excited kids, shopping for gifts and spreading cheer. The event, coordinated by the Safer Dallas Better Dallas nonprofit in collaboration with Target, aimed to brighten the holidays for children facing challenging circumstances.

Dallas Police Chief Eddie Garcia expressed the joy witnessed on both the children’s and officers’ faces, as they shopped for gifts that hold significance beyond the festive season. This year’s event, building upon last year’s success, emphasized community engagement and fostering trust between law enforcement and the young participants.
