City of Dallas Acquires Adventure Landing Entertainment Venue for $13.6 Million

The City of Dallas has officially acquired the popular Adventure Landing entertainment venue in North Dallas for $13.6 million. The 30-year-old property, known for its go-carts, mini golf, batting cages, and arcade, is located along Coit Road near the President George Bush Turnpike.

Previously, the landowner received offers from developers but rejected them, as these developers did not intend to preserve the venue’s legacy of family-friendly entertainment. Recognizing the significance of maintaining such spaces in a highly developed area, the City of Dallas stepped in to purchase the 13.5-acre property.

Councilmember Cara Mendelsohn expressed the importance of this acquisition: “The legacy property will be preserved for the wholesome family entertainment that Adventure Landing provides. The owners turned down offers from developers for millions of dollars more than the agreed purchase price from the city because no developer would agree to carry on their mission.”

The venue will continue to operate under its existing management and name, ensuring that the community can continue to enjoy the recreational activities it has provided for the past three decades. The acquisition also includes the Hildebrand Soccer Fields, another asset that enhances the area’s recreational offerings.

“This is a monumental step for our city,” added Mendelsohn, highlighting the importance of preserving the property for future generations.
