CBFC Approves Two Teasers for Rajkummar Rao-Shraddha Kapoor’s Stree 2

The weekend brought cheer to the industry and trade as Munjya exceeded expectations, earning over Rs. 20 crores in its first three days of release. The film’s success, fueled by the popularity of the horror-comedy genre and its connection to the Maddock Supernatural Universe—which includes Stree (2018) and Bhediya (2022)—has significantly boosted the pre-release hype of Stree 2.

On June 7, the day Munjya was released, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) approved two teasers for Stree 2. The first teaser runs for 1 minute and 23 seconds, while the other lasts for 1 minute and 6 seconds. Both teasers received a U/A certificate.

One of these teasers will launch on Friday, June 14. In a unique initiative, it will be shown exclusively in cinemas screening Munjya. This early teaser release aims to build anticipation, even though the film’s release is still 2 ½ months away.

Stree, which starred Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, marked the beginning of the Maddock Supernatural Universe. The horror-comedy opened with a bang and collected Rs. 129.90 crores at the domestic box office. Bhediya featured Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon, while Munjya starred Sharvari and Abhay Verma. Notably, Varun Dhawan made an exciting cameo in Munjya, and Rajkummar Rao appeared in a special role in Bhediya.

Stree 2 brings back Rajkummar Rao and Shraddha Kapoor, along with Pankaj Tripathi and Abhishek Banerjee. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film is set to release in cinemas on August 30. The anticipation for the film is already high, and the early teaser release is expected to further build excitement among fans.
