Ayushmann Khurrana and Anees Bazmee Team Up for Horror-Comedy ‘Bhootiyapa’

Rumors abound as Ayushmann Khurrana and director Anees Bazmee are reportedly collaborating on a horror-comedy titled ‘Bhootiyapa.’

Following the triumph of “Dream Girl 2” in 2023, Ayushmann Khurrana has immersed himself in music and touring, keeping fans eagerly anticipating his next cinematic venture. Speculation has been rife since late 2022 regarding a potential partnership between Ayushmann Khurrana and director Anees Bazmee. The latest buzz hints at the duo joining forces for a spine-chilling yet uproarious horror-comedy titled “Bhootiyapa.”

Insider sources suggest that discussions are in progress to finalize the particulars of this intriguing project. As per a report in Mid-day, a source disclosed, “Anees is planning to roll the No Entry sequel by the year-end. Meanwhile, Ayushmann has the Sourav Ganguly biopic in the offing. So, the actor-director duo are figuring out when they can roll their laugh riot.”

While Ayushmann Khurrana is poised to portray cricketer Sourav Ganguly in an upcoming biopic, Anees Bazmee has his plate full with two major projects. He is helming “Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3,” featuring Kartik Aaryan, Madhuri Dixit, Vidya Balan, and Triptii Dimri. Subsequently, Bazmee will direct “No Entry 2,” starring Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Arjun Kapoor.
