Arjun Rampal & Aditi Rao Hydari to Star in Imtiaz Ali’s Netflix Romantic Series

After the success of Amar Singh Chamkila, Imtiaz Ali is gearing up for another collaboration with Netflix India. This time, he’s bringing a fresh romantic drama series titled O Saathi Rey, starring Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari in lead roles. Directed by Sajid Ali, Imtiaz’s brother, the series will begin shooting in February 2025. Imtiaz will serve as the writer and showrunner, while also producing the project under his banner, Window Seat Films.

While the plot details remain under wraps, sources reveal that the series will explore the complexities of an extramarital affair. The pairing of Arjun Rampal and Aditi Rao Hydari promises to deliver an intense and emotionally charged narrative. Their fresh on-screen dynamic is expected to bring a unique flavor to this romantic drama, offering audiences a compelling watch.

This project marks Aditi Rao Hydari’s first venture after her wedding to Tamil actor Siddharth in September 2024. It also adds to her growing portfolio with Netflix, following her roles in Heera Mandi and Ajeeb Daastaans. She has three upcoming films: a Tamil-Telugu bilingual with Rajesh M Selva, an Indo-UK co-production about Princess Sophia Duleep Singh, and Gandhi Talks, a silent film with Vijay Sethupathi and Arvind Swamy.

Meanwhile, Arjun Rampal is busy with Aditya Dhar’s spy thriller Dhurandhar alongside Ranveer Singh. He also has five films lined up for release, including Punjab 95, 3 Monkeys, Penthouse, Nikita Roy and The Book of Darkness, and the historical drama The Battle of Bhima Koregaon.
