American Heart Association Raises Awareness for Cardiovascular Disease in Women with Annual Luncheon
The American Heart Association recently held its 20th annual Go Red for Women luncheon at the Dallas Omni Hotel, where over 1,000 attendees gathered to champion the Go Red for Women Movement. This event aims to increase awareness of cardiovascular disease in women and address care disparities. Shockingly, research shows that cardiovascular diseases claim the lives of 1 in 3 women, surpassing all forms of cancer combined.
Attendees engaged in various activities such as free health assessments, Hands-Only CPR lessons, and health education sessions. The event also provided an opportunity for survivors of heart-related illnesses to come together and share their experiences. Sharell Weeams, a heart attack survivor, celebrated her two-year milestone at the luncheon and highlighted the importance of the support system provided by the American Heart Association.
The Go Red for Women movement not only raises awareness but also serves as a platform for survivors to connect and support each other. With Dallas hosting one of the largest Go Red for Women Experiences annually, the event continues to make a significant impact in promoting heart health among women.
