Akshay Kumar’s Tirangaa to be Directed by Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan, Expected to Start Filming by End of 2024
Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated film Tirangaa will be directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan. Contrary to earlier reports, this project is not a remake of the 1993 film Tirangaa starring Nana Patekar and Raaj Kumar. Instead, it features a brand-new script, offering audiences a fresh and original storyline.
A source revealed, “Producers Ashvin Varde, Subhash Kale, and Narendra Hirawat, along with Akshay Kumar, chose Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan to direct the film. They believed his expertise would give the film the necessary commercial appeal. His past success with Lahore and 72 Hoorain makes him the ideal choice for Tirangaa.”
The production team plans to start filming Tirangaa in December 2024. Akshay Kumar and Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan previously planned to collaborate on Gorkha, which got shelved due to technical issues. Sanjay had also been set to direct the space film Chandamama Door Ke, originally starring Sushant Singh Rajput.
Narendra Hirawat addressed the confusion surrounding the project: “Several reports claimed Tirangaa would be a remake, but that’s not true. The film is based on an entirely new script, and we’ll officially announce more details soon.”
Fans of Akshay Kumar can expect Tirangaa to kick off production by the end of 2024, with an exciting new storyline and a stellar team behind it.
