Ajay Devgn’s Raid 2 to Release Early Next Year, Confirms Director Raj Kumar Gupta
Filmmaker Raj Kumar Gupta, who enjoyed success in 2018 with Raid, confirmed that the sequel, Raid 2, will release early next year. The original film, starring Ajay Devgn, received both critical and commercial acclaim. It depicted an income tax raid led by Devgn’s character, an honest officer inspired by real events.
The announcement of Raid 2 came after the success of the first film. Initially scheduled for a November 15 release this year, the sequel’s release date shifted following the postponement of another Ajay Devgn film, Singham Again, now set to release on November 1. This scheduling conflict led to speculation about Raid 2’s delay.
Director Raj Kumar Gupta confirmed the, stating, “Raid 2 is happening early next year. The exact release date will be determined by the producers, but it will be early next year.”
In Raid 2, Riteish Deshmukh will star as the new antagonist, taking over from Saurabh Shukla, who played the villain in the original film. Gupta recently worked with Deshmukh on his web show Pill, where Deshmukh portrayed a protagonist battling a corrupt pharmaceutical company.
Gupta expressed enthusiasm about working with Deshmukh in contrasting roles, saying, “More details about Raid 2 will emerge during the promotions. Working with Riteish in both Pill and Raid 2 has been a fantastic experience.”
Fans can look forward to Devgn’s return in Raid 2 and anticipate the new dynamic introduced by Deshmukh’s role as the nemesis.
