The creators of ‘Thamma’ unveiled the film’s trailer on Friday during an event in Mumbai. Featuring a stellar cast that includes Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Rashmika Mandanna, the movie revolves around a “forgotten legend from our folklore” and follows two characters as they explore love and tales that stretch beyond everyday understanding. Paresh Rawal also plays a key role as Ayushmann’s father, promising plenty of laughs.
As part of Maddock Films’ horror-comedy universe, ‘Thamma’ is the fifth installment that dives into folklore and fantastical creatures. The trailer has ramped up the anticipation for India’s unique horror-comedy universe, especially after the success of its earlier films. The creators have labeled ‘Thamma’ as the franchise’s first true love story, while still tackling a social issue, much like its predecessors ‘Stree’, ‘Stree 2’, ‘Munjya’, and ‘Bhediya’.
In addition to the main cast, ‘Thamma’ features Faisal Malik and Geeta Agrawal in significant roles. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Amar Kaushik, the film is directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, who previously directed ‘Munjya’ within the same horror-comedy universe. Mark your calendars, as the film is set to be released on October 21, just in time for Diwali!
