Abhay Verma, Ananya Panday to star in Dinesh Vijan’s ‘Choomantar’

Ananya Panday and Abhay Verma are all set to pair up for the first time in Maddock Films’ upcoming project Choomantar—a fresh take on sci-fi romance. Known for their genre-defining horror-comedies like Stree and Bhediya, Maddock Films is now venturing into new territory with this quirky romantic tale.

As per a report by PeepingMoon, Choomantar will be directed by Tarun Dudeja, best known for his work on Dhak Dhak. The film is expected to go on floors by end of 2025, with pre-production scheduled to begin in September 2025.

This marks Ananya Panday’s first collaboration with Maddock Films, and her first on-screen pairing with rising star Abhay Verma, who recently gained praise for his performances in Maja Ma and Mismatched.

While plot details are tightly under wraps, the film is described as a light-hearted romantic comedy infused with sci-fi elements, promising a unique cinematic experience for audiences.
