Written by Sneha Desai from Pradeep Ranganathan’s original story, Loveyapa beautifully captures modern relationships. Much like her previous work in Laapataa Ladies, Sneha infuses the film with humor, wit, and layered social commentary—this time focusing on Gen-Z’s approach to love, commitment, and trust.

The film cleverly highlights the disposable nature of modern relationships, drawing parallels with the way we treat mobile phones. Themes of impulsive decision-making, trust issues, and the dangers of AI and deepfakes are subtly woven into the screenplay. The humor never feels forced, ensuring that the 138-minute runtime breezes by.

The only minor hiccup? The subplot about Anupam’s reluctance to let go of his phone feels a bit exaggerated. However, given the film’s lighthearted nature, it’s easy to overlook this as a quirky character trait.

Junaid Khan delivers a confident and natural performance as Gucci, effortlessly switching between humor and emotions. His expressions often remind you of his father, Aamir Khan, yet he carves his own identity with his effortless comic timing.

Khushi Kapoor continues to grow as an actor. While she may not have the magnetism of her sister Janhvi Kapoor just yet, her portrayal of Baani is relatable and endearing. She strikes a balance between vulnerability and charm, making her a strong presence on screen.

Ashutosh Rana is a delight as Baani’s strict yet loving father, bringing both authority and humor to the role. Kiku Sharda delivers an enjoyable performance, stealing scenes with his comic timing. Jason Tham and Aaditya Kulshreshth also stand out as Gucci’s supportive friends.

Advait Chandan returns with a bang, proving that he has refined his storytelling skills since Secret Superstar and Laal Singh Chaddha. His direction is crisp, ensuring every scene serves a purpose without unnecessary distractions.

The Punjabi-heavy soundtrack complements the film’s youthful energy. While none of the songs are instant chartbusters, they blend well with the film’s mood. The background score, handled by multiple composers, enhances key moments without being overpowering.
