Deva Movie Review: Script Analysis
The film sets a pulsating tone right from the beginning. As Shahid Kapoor’s character unravels the mystery behind a notorious gangster’s operations, the screenplay maintains a sharp pace. The buildup of his character—a rugged, relentless cop with his own set of moral conflicts—adds depth to the narrative.

While the first half grips you with its high-stakes cat-and-mouse chase, the second half loses some of its impact. The much-anticipated twist leading to the climax feels somewhat predictable, lacking the hard-hitting punch that the film initially promises. Additionally, a few narrative loopholes hinder the emotional payoff, making the ending feel a bit underwhelming.

Shahid Kapoor dominates every frame, infusing his character with a mix of aggression and vulnerability. His transition from an impulsive law enforcer to someone questioning his moral compass is commendable. This role showcases a different layer of his craft, proving that he thrives in intense roles.

Among the supporting cast, Pravesh Rana and Pavail Gulati leave a mark with their compelling performances. However, Pooja Hegde and Girish Kulkarni remain underutilized. Upendra Limaye’s cameo adds an unexpected but enjoyable dimension to the film.

Rosshan Andrrews ensures that the film remains visually captivating, with crisp cinematography and gripping action sequences. The production design enhances the film’s gritty atmosphere, making the crime world feel authentic.

Jakes Bejoy’s background score keeps the adrenaline pumping, especially during chase sequences. The use of pulsating beats elevates the intensity, making up for some of the screenplay’s weaker moments.
