Shah Rukh Khan & Deepika Padukone to Return for Pathaan 2, Script Locked

Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone are all set to return for Pathaan 2, with Aditya Chopra finalizing the script. The much-anticipated sequel will begin filming in the first quarter of 2026. However, Siddharth Anand will not direct the film, as Yash Raj Films (YRF) is searching for a fresh perspective to lead the next installment of the Spy Universe.

Pathaan 2: Bigger & More Intense

According to reports, Aditya Chopra started working on the script in mid-2023, ensuring that the sequel expands Pathaan’s storyline while laying the groundwork for larger conflicts in upcoming films. Peeping Moon revealed, “Aditya, along with Sridhar Raghavan and Abbas Tyrewala, has crafted a high-stakes script that promises to surpass the first installment in both scale and intensity.”

Sources confirm that Aditya Chopra consulted Shah Rukh Khan, who was thoroughly impressed with the vision for the sequel. Preparations for the film will begin in late 2025, with SRK joining the shoot after completing King, his upcoming film with Suhana Khan, directed by Siddharth Anand.
