Govinda Suffers Accidental Gunshot Injury, Hospitalized in Mumbai

Bollywood actor and politician Govinda sustained a bullet injury early on Tuesday morning at his residence in Mumbai. The actor, known for his iconic roles in films like Hero No. 1 and Coolie No. 1, injured himself while handling his licensed revolver.

The incident happened when Govinda prepared to leave for Kolkata. While cleaning and placing his revolver back into its case, the gun accidentally discharged, and a bullet struck his leg. He rushed to a nearby private hospital, where doctors successfully removed the bullet. His condition remains stable, and he is currently recovering.

Govinda’s manager, Shashi Sinha, confirmed the details, stating, “Govinda was getting ready for Kolkata when the revolver slipped from his hand and discharged. The bullet hit his leg, but he is now on the road to recovery.”

The mishap prompted an investigation, with authorities arriving to assess the situation and reportedly seizing the revolver. Despite the accident, Govinda’s fans can breathe a sigh of relief, as he expects to make a full recovery.

Govinda, one of the biggest stars of the 80s and 90s, remains fondly remembered for his roles in blockbuster comedies like Raja Babu and Haseena Maan Jaayegi. His last major success came in the 2007 film Partner alongside Salman Khan.
