Dallas Driver Accused of Deadly Hit-and-Run Calls 911, Faces DWI Charges

DALLAS – Juan Morgan Munoz, 31, faces charges of felony DWI and collision involving death after allegedly hitting a pedestrian while intoxicated and leaving the scene early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, the incident occurred in the vicinity of Storey Lane, where Munoz is believed to have struck a pedestrian and then fled. Approximately a mile away from the scene, Munoz reportedly called 911 to report the crash around 12:30 a.m.

Tragically, the pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was pronounced dead as a result of the collision.

Munoz was subsequently arrested by Dallas police. Additional charges may be forthcoming pending further investigation.

The incident underscores the dangers of driving under the influence and the severe consequences that can result from such actions. Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run as they work to determine the full extent of Munoz’s involvement and any additional charges he may face.
